As president and COO, Dave Zura is responsible for the company’s overall business operations, including claims and customer service, information technology, income replacement and healthcare insurance services, marketing, strategy and implementation, finance and administration. He is responsible for the enhancement and expansion of the company’s suite of services and the empower platform. These efforts include ensuring superior services and products are provided to individuals, their employers and insurance carriers. He reports to Jim Allsup, founder, chairman and CEO.
Dave joined the company in May 2016 following the sale of his residential construction company, Centria Design Services, with extensive business leadership and operational experience.
His background includes leading business start-ups and turnarounds, as well as spearheading efforts to drive rapid internal organic growth. His career focus has covered building and growing businesses in the realm of private equity and larger corporations. He has held positions as president, COO and vice president with financial services companies, including Capital One and Professional Warranty Service Corporation, structural and home warranties provider.
He has an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Virginia. He lives with his wife, Susan, in St. Louis and has two sons and two daughters. His community activities include mentoring relationships with youth and college students, and small business mentoring. He also has volunteered with The Salvation Army.
